Novothink today put out its promised Solar Surge case for the iPhone and iPod touch. The design acts like a battery sled for Apple’s devices and, as its name suggests, is one of the few such cases that can power itself. Titled Radio With Personal DJ, the claim notes that it should be possible to add personalized or otherwise customized content to streams intended for media players, here meaning mostly computers and iPods. Several more differences have been spotted in beta 4 of the iPhone 3.2 SDK, currently available only to developers. Significant may be multiple references to multitasking, such as a code comment discussing a “multitasking dialog box.” While multitasking is already possible in a limited sense on iPhones and iPods, several reports have suggested that Apple intends to extend the option to third-party apps….

The iPhone 4.0 firmware will definitely feature multitasking, claim several sources. Apple is said to have developed a “full-on solution” to multitasking, although no details have been leaked on how problems like battery life, memory use and processor consumption will be handled. Microsoft to Release an Apple iPod Touch Lookalike For The Zune HD2 (No Surprise There)!

Get this guys, Microsoft are going to copy yet another of Apple’s products the Apple iPod Touch! Microsoft aught to know by now they simply can’t compete with Apple. Fair enough, Apple have designed/produced the most outstanding products the 21st century has seen, but what gets me is can Microsoft not think for themselves? Windows 7 is practically a replica of Mac OS X.

“However fair you think that is, it seems Microsoft may be set to imitate Apple with its next iteration of the Zune HD portable music player. According to ZDNet, the new XNA 4.0 game development platform for Windows Phone 7 Series mobiles, which has already produced promising results, will not be compatible with the original Zune HD.

Developers using XNA 3.1 will still be able to make games for the Zune HD, but Microsoft is encouraging them to port their titles to Windows 7.

On top of this, ZDNet has heard on the grapevine that Microsoft is currently working on a Zune HD2, which will basically be what an iPod touch is to an iPhone – a non-telecommunications device that has more or less the same guts as its phone counterpart. It may be available later this year.”

Coming from Pocket Gamer, what I’d like to take from this part of their blog post is the following. Whatever Microsoft produces I’m sure it will be good, but it will never match up to Apple’s iPod Touch. Also they mentioned something about Steve Jobs and appearing in the Microsoft advert saying “I’m Steve Jobs and Windows 7 was my idea”. We all know this wouldn’t happen, as it is a joke but what the heck is up with this whole Windows idea?
